Usiko Stellenbosch expresses deep sadness at the sudden passing of Willy Hamilton known to all affectionately as uncle Willy.
Uncle Willy’s heartbeat was youth development and being part of Usiko Stellenbosch as a mentor helped him live out his heartbeat. In the past 2 year put his heart and soul into everything he did. His life has made such an impact not only on so many of our youth but also on the staff and mentors at Usiko. He added infectious cheerfulness to every situation but at the same time added so much depth as elder, mentor, mentor, comedian, accomplished camp chef and baker, spiritual leader, poet, philosopher, and humble spirit. His enigmatic spirit is fully captured in his wilderness name- Wild Dog who always strikes light years before first. Uncle Willy passed away on duty in the Groot Winterhoek mountains, preparing for an Usiko mentor camp. Condolences to his family and the Usiko community.
Hamba kahle Willy Hamilton, Wild Dog who always strikes light years before first. You leave behind a beautiful legacy of selfless service. The photos below speak vividly to that legacy!
